5 July 2012- MTC (Week 6)

> Hola familia!

> como estan?! wow, thats crazy that you all are heading up to spain so soon, yall have fun! ooh and if you are forwarding these emails to brandon; hey brandon! debe escribir a mi en español, estaría supa bien! :) pero no debe usar 'vosotros' porque yo tengo que leer eso in las escrituras, y es muy deficil. :)

> anyway, this week at the MTC was pretty cool, I think the high lighting event was our new teacher, Hermano Bartin. Our old teacher, Hermano Haynes had to leave halfway through the time with us, which was super depressing, but just the way it was. so we get this new teacher, Hermano bartin, and you can imagine a bunch of super close missionaries who have gone through so much together with the teachers they have, thinking "who is this new guy". well, lets just say he totally blew our minds away, I cant really think of any other way to say it, he taught us about change and drawing nearer to Christ, and the atonement. and i wish i could make it sound the way he did, but at the end he bore his testimony, and you know that testimony that you hear that comes from shear expiriance of the healing and changing power of the Atonment, ever single Elder in that room was changed for life, none of us will ever forget it. And the next day he did it again, I mean not the same lesson, but he brought the spirit so powerfully that we were all blown away again, we did this exercise where we had to teach this Hermana Maestra who was observing that day, and there was only one rule, you were only allowed to say anything that you felt the spirit prompt you to. the lesson was interesting, hard to focus on exactly what the topic was, but afterward the Hermana told us it was exactly what she needed to hear. and it was funny because left to our own devices, our district would have taught something completely different. we did the same activity the next day, whith hermano Bartin this time, and with similar mind blowing effect. basically the last few days i have been filling pages and pages in my journal, it has made it more difficult to make it to bed by quiet time and lights out, but for the good cause of rememberence. finally though, yesterday was the first lesson that wasnt completely mind blowing, we did some language study, but becuase the schedualing program on the computers was down, we didnt know what we were supposed to study with him, so it was kind of a just disjointed question and answer language study session, and i didnt learn all that much. but then once again, at the end, Hermano Bartin talked about how not every day in the mission field is going to be a spiritual walk in the park, there are going to be days were you are going to be tested by not really recieving much inspiriation, but it is just that, a test, to see if you will stay true. and it is those days that you feel the spirit strongly that we lieve for.

> on a more fun note, i recieved my boise Idaho shirt yesterday, i bought it with the money on my allowance card, and now i wear it around prowdly. :) it is more of a fun joke, because people where their shirts to crazy exotic places, with the whole "i am so cool" aura, that it is a fun thing to jest at with my boise Idaho shirt :) in fact i am wearing it right now, i feel pretty darn cool.

> lets see, what else... i have a little more time. oh yeah, the stadium of fire was last night! it was pretty stinkin cool, we had a devotional program of sorts before it, but this one it wasnt totally reverent, there was claping and stuff, it was quiet interesting. really the first time i have really heard clapping or cheering in a very long time, well a month and a half. we sang some fun primary songs like popcorn popping on the aprocote tree and once there was a snowman becauyse everyone had arrived there a bit early. Prez. Brown was loving it. they had random people go up to the front, like those who had been dear johnd, and we sang to them. was pretty awesome. for one of the perfomances two of the guys in my old ward at BYU who play the violins had an american ho-down, that was pretty crazy. it was also the lastest i have stayed up since being set apart, 11:30!!!! and it was allowed!!! haha it was pretty awesome nonetheless./ i also got some cool picture of the fireworks, although my camara died during it which was sad, but my fault. they were playing the beatles at the stadium, my companion and I werent sure if we were supposed to listen. haha one last funny part bfore i run out of time, it was interesting talking to all the international missionaries, being in the US on the forth of july. the most fun of all the the British Elder in the dorm next to me, had some interesting arguements with his american companions about Britain Vs the US. but anyway i am out of time now, talk to you later fam! :)

> Nos vemos!
